JESUS'CHOSEN ONES

TO BE ONE OF JESUS' CHOSEN

This summer Léandre Lachance and his wife, Elisabeth, did us the honour to conduct the Families retreat at Roc-Estello.

Léandre receives in his heart of heart Messages from Jesus of Whom he is only the commissioner. But if he refuses to acknowledge any merit regarding these messages, nevertheless, the presence of this couple, bearing in their hearts 5 children and 16 grandchildren, constituted a living testimony of the quality of the messenger.

1. WHO ARE JESUS' CHOSEN ONES

All of us have been chosen by Jesus and are therefore all His "Chosen Ones". It is therefore a duty for all to think together about the meaning of this call from Jesus to be a Chosen One. Then, we have to reflect on how to answer the call and on how to live that call. All of us have the same role to play: to become garden hoses of His Love through the world. And that requires us to be linked to the source: God in His love. And the most important moments of our lives are the ones where we are in an intimate prayer with Him and we allow Him to create unity in ourselves:

He with us, us with Him in Him.

Firstly, therefore, the hose must be linked, and secondly, the faucet must be open. Many people are linked but do not open the faucet. The "Chosen ones"' mission is to open the faucets, and that takes a YES.

The Yes we give to Jesus is to grant Him all the freedom to come and act within us so that His Love can emanate from us and reach others.

Thirdly, there is always a great danger in that kind of hoses: the obstructions that can be found in the hoses. They are our requirements, our expectations, our perceptions.

The Lord chooses us to built the new civilization of Love. This is what Pope John-Paul II was saying in 1997 when he was speaking about the times we are living right now: The Love of God will bathe the new century; it will be a time of grace, as the fulfilment of a plan of love for all of humanity and for each one of us.

Let us not be afraid; it is not an old world that ends but a new one that is beginning; a new dawn seems to be appearing in the skies of History. In the same period the Pope was saying that, I was inspired to write: we are at present at the dawn of the most beautiful of the histories of the world. This is not exactly what you read in the newspapers; but let me reassert to you that we are at the dawn of the most beautiful of the histories of the world and that God chooses us to be associates for the coming of the new Kingdom.

Jesus Chosen Ones are those who renounce their own will to do the will of God.

A short while ago I learned, much to my surprise, that the times in which we are living have been prophesised, before Jesus, by the prophet Hosea: A day will come where man will turn without reluctance or mental reservation and open himself to God's grace and that day will be for him the starting point of a new life in God's love.

To understand what it means to be chosen by Jesus, I refer you to Message 35: "My little one, the Love I have for you is boundless". That is the first thing of which we have to convince ourselves: God 's Love for us is boundless, "it is beyond anything you could imagine and conceive". "If I poured into you the immensity of my Love, you would be unable to accept or contain it: your heart would burst. I want you to know that there are reserves of Love for you and for each of My children on earth; these reserves are like beautiful gifts that you will never finish unwrapping. The Lord chooses us to give us gifts; He chooses us to poor His Love into us and when we accept It His Love transforms us, and we become instruments in His Hands, garden hoses letting His Love reach others.

It is not our doing; it is His Doing that you will never have completely accomplished. You will know a wonder always greater. It will be Jubilation and still more and greater Jubilation.

The Father has such an overwhelming Love that He wants that this Love herewith reserved to Heaven be extended to earth, and this will happen very soon. Actually, it has already happened for the chosen ones and you are one. I wrote this in 1997 and I realize that it is more and more true in 2004.

That Love is so immense and pure that it cannot co-exist with evil. It has chosen to live in hearts that are pure and honest who accept to welcome Him.

As for the times we live in, allow me to read to you a short extract of number 46 of the first volume: "...at this time, on this very day, not tomorrow, nor in six months, nor in a year, but on this very day, The Heavens are open; a multitude of Angels, of Saints are among you to guide you, to accompany you, to bring about the great passage that leads you to the fullness of Love."

You have only one thing to do: give your consent and repeat it as needed so that all your bonds may be severed. Let your "yes" be "yes" to accept Love. You are seated at the table of the heavenly feast. The Angels and the Saints are waiting for your consents to serve you.

You even have the privilege of choosing the Saint that will serve you, guide and accompany you, let you know what is on the menu in order to satisfy as quickly as possible your hunger and your thirst for ...Love. Often times that hunger and that thirst for Love has been repressed by the wounds that happened to you and the Lord is saying to us: Do not be afraid, let your self be loved, it is My Love that I am pouring into you, I give you the holy angels to accompany you --that was placed deep inside you at the time of your creation.

It seems that we savoured (tasted) this Love of God at the moment of our individual creation, our conception, and that we are always searching for that Love throughout our life.

"All are invited to this feast, no matter what their social rank, the conditions of their clothes or their state as a sinner may be."

The first "yes" you must give is to accept that God loves you. Simple as that. The second "yes" is that of loving yourself as God has created you. Then comes the "yes" given repeatedly to sever your ties created by the Enemy and to enter more deeply into the Heart of God.

Love's way is simple and easy for whoever engages himself or herself fully and totally into it.

The greatest difficulty lies in that, but once the gate has been cross, it is very easy. The most difficult thing is to accept and give our Yes to the Lord and to distance oneself, that is to say no to the way the world thinks, which is contrary to the will of God.

It is easier to say yes to God because the Heavens are open these days and we are the beneficiaries of all the martyrs and saints who have peopled the Church.

The other aspect that makes it easier to say YES is found in the sufferings caused by the ways of the world, to understand that those ways are a dead end and that there is another way. Only one way can satisfy their hunger and their thirst, that of the Love.

I would like to conclude by mentioning gifts, specifically a small gift that Elisabeth and I really appreciated: a phone call received from our 15 year old grand son asking us to pray for him because the next morning he would have an exam which was stressing him a lot.

Elisabeth told him: "I know that you worked hard and I will pray for you "; I asked him what was so stressing him and he answered that it was the mathematics. For me, mathematics is no big deal and I told him: "you know, my guardian angel is strong in mathematics; do you want me to lend him to you for your exam tomorrow?" He told me of course and I said: " consider it done, but do not forget one thing, do not forget to thank him."

The next night he called us to tell us that " his exam went well, I was calm and my friends told me you are really calm for your exams and I told them that my grandfather had lend me his guardian angel". This anecdote to tell you that you have to believe!

Because Love loves me, I am becoming Love.
Because Love loves you, you are becoming Love.

2. ANSWERING THE CALL

What is Jesus' call to be a chosen one? There is one answer that I want to stress because it appears to me to be a basic one. He wants us to bear fruits whereas we are inclined to seek success.

Personally, all my life I worked to succeed in business, I trained people, sales people to teach them how to achieve success.

Then, when I reached a further stage in my faith, I was asking myself: " is success important in the eyes of God?"

I did not have any answer for many years, but lately I have found an answer. Here is how I see it now: success is the person's activity with the help of God: without God's Help there is no success. But what God proposes us is fruitfulness and that is God's activity with the help of the person.

To become fruitful we have to recognize our smallness, put ourselves in the arms of God, and completely accept His will in us. When He asks us to do something, we do it and "He produces", it is the fruitfulness. This is what I live in the mission for the chosen of Jesus; I do very little and all of a sudden, I realize that, effortlessly, simply because I obeyed an inspiration, God does everything.

On the other hand, He wants us to help Him.
Since I have realized that my role is to be a helper to God, I find it much more relaxing.

Let us compare ourselves to a ground where only thistles grow. What is to be done so that our ground becomes fruitful? First it must accept to loose its greenery, cut the brushwood and burn it. Transposed in human terms, it means that we have to loose our pride, our desire to be noticed. Then the land must be ploughed, the grain sowed, in order to die and rot.

When it is rotting, a germ will grow out of it and this ground will become fruitful. This is a good metaphor of the ways we have to take to go from a ground that does not produce anything to a fruitful one. The Lord can use us if we accept to loose our greenery, be broken and remade.

Some may think that they cannot be among the ones Jesus chooses because of their character, their failings, that it is not possible they be the ones that the Lord chooses.

To understand that the Lord does not make mistake when He chooses us, we have to realize that He does not choose us because of our qualities, our talents, He does not choose us because of our piety, but He cast His eyes upon us solely out of Love.

Let us recall His firsts apostles. Do you think He chose Peter because he had a nice character?
Do you think that He chose Matthew because he was an honest man, with a good reputation?
Do you think He chose Thomas because he was a man of faith?

Only Love dictated His choice of His first apostles No. Love alone led Him to choose his first apostles; through His Love He transformed them into saints and they became the pillars of our Church, allowing Her to still be today. It is still through Love that He chooses persons on earth to build the civilization of Love.

Now, you are free to say Yes or no: it is important to realize that we have that freedom in the face of God's call, because nobody on earth can force us to say yes to God's call, no more that nobody on earth can prevent us to say YES to that call: it is strictly between Him and us, for each one of us.

Speaking of freedom, some may think that when we are chosen by Jesus if we accept we will loose our freedom because we have to renounce our will to do the will of God. We think that if we loose our will, we loose our freedom. It is exactly the opposite, because our beings have been created by God, to return to God, and to live in harmony with Him.

When we accept His call to become a chosen one, we live in harmony with Him, and it is in living in harmony with Him that we find our freedom. On the other hand, by wanting to live "our" freedom, we become slaves. Think of the slavery of the senses, the slavery of the people who are no longer free in front of alcohol, drugs, sex, the urge to possess, etc., they have lost their freedom, they have become slaves.

We have been created to be loved and to love; we find our freedom back when we accept to be loved from God and by loving others. As the bird that has been created to fly and find its freedom in flying, the fish that has been created to swim finds its freedom in swimming, we humans find our freedom back in loving. But, not any kind of love: by loving with God's Love, in knowing how to love from His Love for us.

To accept the call of God, it is important to become aware that we all need purification, because we start from a world that wants to build itself without God and we enter in a world that lives only for God. To go from one world to the other, we need purification. What means does the Lord offer us to be cleansed?

The first means, the easiest, the one that bears the most fruit is the sacrament of Reconciliation, because it erases all our faults, it prevents the devil to play with our guilt feeling in order to stop us from living the present time.

To enter further in God's plan we must become close friends with Him, and to become His close friends, we must have time to talk to Him, and the only time, the best moment that we have is the present time. If we would fully live the present time, we would all have become saints.

The devil's work is therefore to prevent us from living the present time, to steal our present time and he does that by placing us in the past or in the future; in the past by making us feel guilty, in the future by inspiring worries.

Let me read to you an extract from the Chosen, that will help you understand; it is at number 87: "Yes My chosen ones of the end times who are reading these lines, you are the one the Father has chosen to diffuse His overflow of Love.

Perhaps you would be tempted to set out on a crusade for this beautiful and great mission, but if you did so straightaway, you would make a mistake for that is not the Father's plan. His plan is that you become love, that you give your total, unconditional "yes" to letting yourselves be transformed, that you set out immediately on mission on the invisible level through prayer, adoration, the reception of sacraments and fasting as well.

While you are on mission on the invisible level, little by little you become Love. As you become Love, you become kindled with the Fire of Love Fire and you kindle the men and women whom the Father sends to you."

I read un article in "Stella Maris" that touches upon that point relating to the invisible: Two priests who are missionaries in Africa are in the bush and must follow a road to go from one mission to another. They arrive at a crossroad where a young man is waiting for them and tells them "my mother sent me out to take you to her because she wants to see you."

They are in the bush, there is no radio, no television, so how did the mother know that the two priests were there? Surprised, the two priests ask if it is far away. The answer is that no, it is only a half-hour walk. They arrived at a small house of hard-packed surface where an old sick woman asks them " strangers is it true that there is a God composed of three persons?" - "yes". "Is it true that the second person came on earth to atone for our sins?" - "yes."

The old lady keeps on asking questions on fundamental points of our faith, and the two priests keeps on answering them. After a while, the two priests say: "it is now our turn to ask you a question: where did you learn all that? Have you been in contact with Christians?" - "No, absolutely not". The two priests show her a picture of Saint Joseph and she tells them " I know him, he comes and see me often".

They asked her more questions and realize that she knew a lot and then she asks them "will you take water and wash me"
She wanted to be baptised. The two priests baptised her and then she tells them: " will you wash all members of my family, they have received the same teaching", then adds "do your have bread that is not real bread" Can I have some?" She wanted to have communion so they gave her communion. She died the next day.

The Lord has ways that we cannot perceive, He has His way of doing things, but the important thing is to convince ourselves of the importance of our prayers, of what the Lord can accomplish through them.

And I ask you as Jesus' chosen that each time that you read in my books a sentence that touches you to transform it in a universal prayer, to ask Jesus to extend it to the universe, and then to reach and touch the hearts of all who will read that sentence so that it touches them as it touched you.

We can be very good Christians and have an arms-length relationship with God.

Let me mention another point concerning our relation with God. It is about the various kinds of relations that we can have with the Lord and what He asks of us. We can be very good Christians and have an arms-length relationship with God. It is call an alibi relationship.

God is in His Heaven, I talk to Him and I establish a relation with Him, sometimes He inspires me but that remains an arms-length relationship. When we pray and give our yes to the Lord, we reach a second type of relation,, an alloy relationship: it means that we are very close to God's heart, but there is God and there is me, in an alloy, like jewels in gold and silver, alloyed but still recognisable as gold ad silver. In this alloy relationship, each keeps His identity, but there is a alloy relationship.

An alliance exists when we are fused in the hearth of God. It is not the same thing, we cannot recognize what is of us and what is of God since we have fused in his heart. This is the kind of relationship that we are called to live as Christians, as beings of love. I must diminish to enter in this relation of alliance.

A friend told me one day that he had asked God: "What do you want me to do?" and that the Lord had answered: "That you fade".

The alliance relationship

To enter more profoundly in this relation with God, we need humility. Every time we lower ourselves in humility, the Father let us see a part of the divinity He has put into us. It is in the depth of humility that we can reach the height of holiness. In other words, Il takes more and more space in us and it is where the alliance relationship is build.

3. WITH MARY, LIVING THE CALL ON A DAILY BASIS, A SPIRITUALITY OF THE " YES"

There is this prayer that I recite every morning. I would like to say it with you because it has changed a lot of things in my behaviour. It is a prayer written by Cardinal Suenens. It goes like this:

Lord, in the quiet of this dawning day,
I am asking you for peace, wisdom and strength.
I want to look at the world today
With eyes filled with love;
To be patient, understanding, gentle and wise;
To see Your children beyond appearances
As You Yourself see them,
And so to see only the good in each one of them.
Close our ears to all slander;
Keep my tongue from all ill will;
May only toughs that bless
Remain in my mind;
Grant that I may be so kind and so happy
That all those who come near me
Feel Your Presence.
Clothe me with Your Beauty, Lord,
And may I reveal You through this day.

I think that in the civilisation of Love in which we are entering, to listen to the Lord's we must accept to be unsettled. We have gotten into habits and we have to accept to let ourselves put into question. The picture that comes to my mind is that of vehicles: some people are always into gear: as soon as we say something, there they go! Others are always going backwards: "no, no, not me"....

Others are on the handbrake: " this is the way I am, and nobody is going to change me!" When we are in one of those three positions, it is very hard for the Lord to go trough us, to inspire us. He waits until we put ourselves in neuter: that is how He can make us go forward or backward; we must accept to be flexible, able to recognize that He just unsettled us through others and that this comes from Him. If we are in a listening mood, we feel it.

We are heading towards an extraordinary world. While reading the breviary, I discovered that Saint Bernard speaks of the intermediary coming of Jesus. We know that Jesus came once, and that He will come again in His Glory, but Saint Bernard speaks of a intermediary coming: His coming in the hearts of people.

That coming has probably always existed since His first coming, but It is much more strong in a vast number of people today because we are very close to His return and it is to prepare that great return. Therefore we must be with joy while we are living this intermediary coming: He grants us the favours (mercies) reserved for the aftermath of His coming in glory. He chooses us to prepare the hearts to His coming in glory, and He grants us to live the exultation reserved for His big return.

The preparation of our hearts

Let me read you an extract of number 162 of the first volume: "The most important preparation for each person living on earth at this time, is the preparation of the heart."

A heart prepared for the Great Return is a heart completely transformed by Love, always accompanied by thoughts of peace, joy and Love, and where negative thoughts have no place at all. Hate, vengeance, defamation and non-acceptance of a person (regardless of his or her behaviour), worries and material concerns or even with reference to himself as the none-acceptance of himself.

This heart is therefore perfect in every way; something that no one may achieve on one's own. The Creator alone has the power to perfect or complete His creation. Since He has given great freedom to the being He has created out of Love, He expects a total, unconditional and irrevocable "yes" from this being."

Notice how it is beautiful... He waits and expects. "A great "yes" to begin with and a multitude of little ones to severe all the ties and habits that prevent this person from becoming a being of Love. Those little "yeses" have to do with the person who gets on our nerves, the one who has a bad temper, etc. and the Lord uses all that to bring His creation to perfection. Another extract mentions that suffering is also necessary to the human being so that the Lord creates beauty out of it, as rain is necessary to the plant.

When a suffering is not welcomed, we are preventing God from acting. I choose to say welcomed because it implies that we choose freely. "Similarly, this person must give a "no", a multitude of them to everything that runs counter to Love or that prevents one from becoming a docile and flexible instrument in the hands of the Father." We must say "no" even to a though: if I think in a negative way, if I think negatively of someone I am preventing Love to circulate.

When a suffering is not welcomed, we are preventing God from acting.

" The great purification that is asked of you and that has begun will take place worldwide, among the Father's children as a whole. It is urgent that you hand over your "yes", given repeatedly. Since you are the first ones chosen, many beneficiaries of your willingly repeated "yes" will suffer from your refusals or hesitations.

It is important that we realize that. Since we are the first chosen, our "yes" will have a great influence worldwide, but if we delay, if we hesitate, some people might suffer because of our attitude. "Your "yes" ...is much more important that you think; somewhat like the first Apostles who were absolutely unaware of the importance of their "yes" to follow Christ. You, men and women, are all so blessed for being chosen. You are becoming Love to give Love."

Jesus Host (Eucharist?)

It seems to me that the civilisation of Love is founded on three pillars. We must know them. The first of these pillars, always the most important to me, is Jesus Host (Eucharist) that we adore and that we receive in our heart.

And there are three powerful moments to meet Jesus Host (Eucharist): first, the Consecration moment. It is the moment of which we must take advantage to offer Him what we are, what we have, those we have in our hearts, the souls in purgatory, ours ancestors, etc.

The Communion

The second moment is the Communion, when we have to ask ourselves the following question: "What space have you given the Lord when you received Him? Did you receive Him in order that he finds you a job? Or that He settles this or that problem? Or did you receive Him in the hope that He will change your husband, or your wife? Etc."

I believe that to allow Jesus Host (Eucharist?) to act, we must leave Him all the space. When we receive Him, we should ask ourselves to act in such a way that there will not be any space, any place, in us in which He does not dwell.

Adoration

The third powerful moment, is the time dedicated to Adoration. What should we say then? Nothing. It is the moment to listen to the Lord, to bear attention to what He has to say to us. I like to compare this situation to the one where we lie under the sun. If you expose yourself to the sun: it changes the colour of your skin, and you do not have to tell it anything, just lay there and it will act.

But the sun is only a star created by God: it is far from having His power. If the sun is capable of changing the colour of my skin, imagine when I am in the presence of God, how He can transform all my being! THIS HAS TO BE REALIZED because it is the first of the pillars of the civilisation of Love. I am utterly convinced that the whole renewal will start from Jesus the Host (the Eucharist?).

The second pillar is Mother Mary, the Virgin Mary, Who has the mission of preparing the hearts for the great return of Jesus. The Father entrusted her the mission to give His Son Jesus to the world and in these times that are the last He entrusts Her the mission to prepare the hearts to welcome Jesus. She is able to accept us with our faults no matter what we are, dirty, ill-dressed; She will re-beautify us to present us to Her Son Jesus.

The third pillar, thanks to which we are actually sure of not being in the wrong, is our Pope His Holiness John-Paul II. To me, he is one of the great figures of our Church, a man of extraordinary holiness and lucidity.

If we do not want to err, we only have to verify if what we do, what we say conforms to the teachings of John-Paul II. He is a very important pillar and I believe that it is because of the great amount of prayers of people who say "yes" around the world, who pray for John-Paul II that the Lord gives us the grace of still keeping him.

The Lord does the rest

Meanwhile, multitude of hearts are transformed and we have to follow these directives. From day to day, it is important to realize that we have a little part to play, that is to give our "yes" and that the Lord does the rest. There is a comparison at number 193 of the first volume that I like a lot wherein Jesus gives us the example of a plane: "My little one, together, indeed it is truly together, you with Me and I with you, that you are approaching the Father, that you are led to the Father.

Since the Father is Love, by approaching the Father you are drawn by Love. It is somewhat like an aircraft approaching a fully active volcano; it will be drawn into the volcano and become fire. When a being, a child of the Father created in His image and likeness is drawn near Him, he is aspired and transformed by Him, and this happens through no effort on the part of the person concerned.

Like the aircraft that needed its power to approach the volcano, once it is drawn into it, it no longer needs its power to be transformed into fire. It is the same for the one approaching the Father: he or she first needed His power to be drawn to Him.

They are the "yeses" repeatedly given to let him/herself be guided by Me, be wrapped in the cloak of My Blessed Mother and supported by the Holy Angels, accompanied by the Saints of Paradise and the earth.

There comes a moment when it is the pull of the Love of the Father (like the fire of the volcano) that takes charge of everything and transforms and so the person becomes Love (as the aircraft becomes fire). Fortunate are you Léandre, as are many others to be able to be so close to Love and by gravitation become Love. You personally should take time to savor this notion of the dynamic of Loving God.

To welcome His Love, and let selves be transformed requires more and more periods of silence, of meditation and prayers.

I do not believe in people who say: "I would like to pray, but I do not have the time". They have not established prayer as a priority in their lives. But for the chosen of Jesus that we are, to enter in this relationship with God, to be transformed by Him, it is imperative to accept to give Him time.

That must be our lives' priority. We have to find a moment of prayer, of intimacy with Him. And when we want to give ourselves, we realize that we are the greatest benefactors or our gesture and it will take all eternity to render glory to God. Lucky us!

Dear Fathers, Jean-Marie and Pierre and all members of your radiant community.

Glory be to the Lord and to Mother Mary for the retreat that I had the blessing to live at Roc-Estello and to know those who lead. Thank you to Dominique for his generous availability, and to the "holy women".

I will keep a lasting memory of the talks of my very dear friends Léandre and Élisabeth that I was very happy to see again.

Praise the Lord for the new acquaintances and relations woven in these days of blessings. I remain in faithful communion with you, the received blessings being the guarantees.

Father Ernest Le Courriard

We praise you Lord Jesus for the kindness of the welcome and the magnanimity of the Love given on this site of Roc-Estello by Father Jean-Marie, Father Pierre, Léandre and Élisabeth Lachance and all the volunteers on the team.
